Lindsay Olson

Vice-President, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba

Ms. Olson directs all of IBC’s activities in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, including liaisons with external business and community groups, law enforcement agencies, and government. She is also responsible for coordinating and carrying forward the public policy agenda of IBC's member companies on issues such as increasing competition and choice in auto insurance, natural disaster preparedness, and regulatory reform.

A lifelong resident of Vancouver and a graduate of the University of British Columbia, Ms. Olson spent 19 years with a major insurer. During that time, she attained her Fellowship in the Insurance Institute of Canada, taught evening school classes for the Insurance Institute of British Columbia, and served on regional and national committees of Insurance Bureau of Canada, including the Claims Emergency Response Committee.

Ms. Olson has served as a Director of Emergency Preparedness for Industry and Commerce Council (EPICC), a Council Member of the Insurance Institute of BC, Secretary of Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (BC), and member of the BC Government’s Red Tape Reduction Task Force. Currently, she is a member of the Steering Committee of the Pacific Northwest Preparedness Society.
